Juan
Les Pins
This elegant resort town lies at the end of a magnificent
bay, well protected by the Cap d'Antibes and the Pointe
de la Croisette. The thriving musical night life of
Juan Les Pins began in the 1920s with the American tourists.
Several famous jazz musicians transformed this town
into the European jazz capital; the first jazz festival
was born in 1959 and continues today.
The Promenade au Soleil running along
the sand beach resembles a smaller version of the Croisette
in Cannes. There is a small harbour, Port Gallice, for
pleasure boats. In the evening, activity centers around
outdoor restaurants and cafes and nightclubs, all which
stay open light into the early morning during the summer
season.
Unlike the beaches in Nice, Juan Les
Pins has beautiful fine sand, stretching 2 km. There
are many public and private beaches along the bay.
